It maybe took a little help from a school counselor, but she really couldn't help me put it all together. It took the listening of a relative who said, "you deserve safety" two years after the abuse occurred, that really sparked self esteem in me. It took the help of a train psychologist, to help me unravel big bits of it. By then I was 30. Some of my abuse began at age 5. It did not take a police officer. they did not believe me. It maybe took a little help from a school counselor, but she really couldn’t help me put it all together.
